Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

With over 20 years of experience as an educator and Special Education Resource Teacher, I bring a unique perspective to my work as a psychotherapist. I have supported children, pre-teens, and teens with diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, and social-emotional difficulties. Working alongside families, educators, and school teams has given me a deep understanding of how challenges at school can affect a child’s confidence, relationships, emotional well-being, and family life.

I specialize in supporting children, youth, and their families through anxiety, emotional regulation, school-related stress, behavioural challenges, social struggles, self-esteem, and life transitions. I recognize that children and youth often communicate their inner-struggles through behaviour rather than words. I provide a safe, supportive space where they can build emotional awareness, resilience, and practical coping skills. I draw from various evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and emotion-focused interventions, tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique strengths and needs.

Supporting parents is an important part of my work. I partner with families to better understand their child’s behaviours, strengthen communication, and develop practical strategies that support success at home and at school. My experience with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and neurodivergent learners allows me to help bridge the gap between education and mental health, empowering children and families to thrive.

Outside of my practice, you can often find me on the basketball court, where I enjoy fostering connection, confidence, and community through sport.
